Chinese Exclusion Act—In 2016 I was chosen to participate in a two week professional development regarding the little known topic of the Chines Exclusion Act of 1883. The topic is relevant today as many of the immigration issues of today are related to this act that was in place for over 60 years. The NEH Program was a major factor in the research and development of the PBS Documentary by the same name. Slavery in the Colonial North—In 2017 I was chosen to participate in a two week professional development the existence of Slavery in the Northern states during the American Colonial period. Most are familiar with the existence of slavery in the Antebellum American south but almost exclusively overlook the slavery that existed in the northern colonies during the period leading up to the American Revolution
